About This Position Responsibilities:
Developing relationships with current and potential industry partners in the forestry sector in Maine. Providing market analysis and technical assistance to the forest products industry to identify business and economic development opportunities

Essential Functions (1)
Industry Relationships: Develop relationships with forestry sector businesses including landowners, manufacturers, service providers and start-ups. Use expertise in the forestry sector to develop R&D proposals and projects for the University’s faculty, staff and research centers to assist individual companies & groups of companies. Promote the University’s capacity to support R&D for companies throughout the state of Maine.

Essential Functions (2)
Economic Development: Strategically plan & develop necessary resources for successful forestry-related economic development projects Identifying internal & external funding sources, grant writing, and cultivating partnerships with businesses, investors and organizations Support efforts to attract businesses in the forestry sector to the state of Maine

Essential Functions (3)
Support Services: Foster working relationships with faculty, alumni, industry experts and resource providers to support forestry sector growth in Maine Organize the resources of the University to support economic development related to the forestry sector Establish & develop meetings and workshops related to forestry R&D
