Model Curriculum The Model Curriculum will contain 4 sections. Only two of the sections are currently complete: the Content Elaborations and the Expectations for Learning. That is because these sections have to be board approved, and are therefore static or unchangeable. The Instructional Strategies and Resources will be coming at a later time after the Board approval. Notice the model curriculum is organized by cluster not by standard. The Expectations for Learning sections contains 4 sections: an introductory paragraph, essential understanding statements, mathematical thinking statements, and instructional focus statements. Read the Expectations for Learning introductory paragraph for one of the clusters of the standards you chose. This paragraph sets the stage for the important points and connects the cluster to the learning progression. Is there anything in the progression that you may have missed?
22
What is Model Curriculum?
It connects standards to instruction, reflecting the typical development of the mathematical thinking within a grade/course.
