AVID Tutorial Expectations
Tutorial forms must be completed as homework. It is Pre-Work Inquiry and approximately half of your tutorial grade.

REQUIRED INFORMATION IN A TRF
Heading: Full name, Date, Class Period, Subject (Math, Science, ELA, Social Studies), and the Subject Teacher for that class. Topic/Standard Original Question Key Academic Vocabulary and their Definitions What do I Know? Critical Thinking (What can I show?) General Processes/Steps (What can I tell?). This section should have all of the details of your first attempt to solve the problem. Point of Confusion Question

TRF QUESTIONS The following must be completed in order to receive credit: Your Initial Question Your Point of Confusion Question - Level 2 or higher Based on the academic subject matter (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies) POC question labeled with Costa’s level (1, 2, or 3)

PARTICIPATION Section completed by tutor or teacher. To receive full credit you must do the following: Notes, handouts, textbook, are present No sidebar conversations or goofing off – YOU are expected to assist and focus on the student presenter and/or the tutor at all times. Note taking (done in 3 column CN format) Asking of higher level questions Kind and respectful to everyone at all times

NOTES This section will be completed by you, using a separate piece of loose-leaf paper. Notes MUST be written in Cornell notes (3 Column) style to receive full credit. Full header, student presenter questions on the left side, and notes taken specifically for EACH question presented. You must show your tutor proof that you have completed them fully, prior to taking them with you at the end of the tutorial. Tutors will place their initials on your notes.

EVALUATION/SUMMARY/REFLECTION
This section will be completed before the end of class. Once completed, the tutorial form will be turned-in, as directed - to the tutor or teacher. Write 5 + sentences about what you learned in regard to the question you presented. Do not list what you learned, but explain what you learned. Your reflection must show understanding and depth. You can only use the phrase “I learned…” one time. If your question was not presented, write “I was not able to present my question due to time but I learned…” and then reflect on at least one concept that was presented, by a student presenter in your tutorial group.
