I really enjoy eating Japanese and Chinese food. I like the interesting types of food they make, and the way it clashes together and compliments each other. (Besides that, it’s so yummy and it’s way better than any other kind of food ;) )
How it’s connected to G l o b a l i z a t i o n:
Since the food comes from, or is inspired by other cultures; this is a way of showing our two countries must interact. 中文

3. ethnics!
I am Métis, which means that I come from two cultures; Aboriginal and European (French). Even though I come from two different cultures, we have our own unique traditions; such as jigging.
How it’s connected to G l o b a l i z a t i o n:
If some of the other countries didn’t come to Canada, or travel around the world; a lot of us wouldn’t be here or be us. We wouldn’t have the same ethnics (Irish, Swedish…) that we have.

4. interests!
I enjoy long boarding, listening to music, taking pictures, and reading. I like how with long boarding, and listening to music you can easily de-stress and forget about the day. Photography can inspire you to examine an everyday thing and make it look interesting.
How it’s connected to G l o b a l i z a t i o n:
Long boarding is inspired by surfboards which come from Hawaii, and the boards are usually made from bamboo; which comes from China. Photography originated from France, and music comes from all over the world (mine’s mostly from the USA.)
If the countries didn’t interact, most of these everyday things wouldn’t be available.

5. Hallo! Bonjour! Hello Tanisi language! Konnichiwa
I am fluent in English; I speak it at home, in public and at school. My family usually speaks English too, but they also know Cree; and my Grandmother speaks it fluently. I also know bits and pieces of French from school; bits of Japanese and few words in Chinese from my friend. =)

How it’s connected to G l o b a l i z a t i o n:
All of these languages (except Cree) came to us from other countries. All of this was possible through travelling and letting our countries interact; in other words… Globalization.

6. clothing and body adornment!
I have about 3 piercings, and have been pierced over 8 times. I have a small cancer ribbon tattooed on my neck behind my ear; shaded in grey. I’ve also stretched my earlobes to 00g; it was a long process but it looks sweet. All of these piercings took time, money, and patience but it was worth it.
How it’s connected to G l o b a l i z a t i o n:
Piercings developed in other countries. The first known culture that pierced the skin was the East Indians from India. The first known culture to tattoo (and had evidence on living bodies) was Japan. Egypt was the first to stretch their ears.

7. Five Collectives I Belong To:
family!
The purpose: A family is there to provide moral and literal support; they provide help and they take care of you by making you food and giving you a place to stay the night! You also can share your thoughts and ideas with them and they try to support and help you the best they can.
Our T R A D I T I O N S :
My family’s traditions is to get together at all the biggest holidays (New Years, Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving) and have a turkey dinner at my Grandmother’s house. =)

8. f r i e n d s !
The purpose: To have a social life, people to talk to; and people to enjoy moments with. You really learn to connect with people and open up with them, and you share things with... ( and not just food :3.) You feel like you belong because you all share the same interests.
Our T R A D I T I O N S :
Traditions I have with my friends is to get together and have a big sleepover at someone’s house. (Tends to happen on a birthday.) And me and my two super close friends usually get together and go to a sweet show at the gaiety. =)

9. classes!
The purpose: The reason with having a class is so that you have people to interact with and get different views on how to learn things. You also participate in class discussions together and they give you different opinions on topics.
Our T R A D I T I O N S :
Traditions that we have in class vary from class to class; but it always comes down to attendance, O’Canada, and prayer.

10. city/town I live in!
The purpose: The people in our town and community work together to make the town as peaceful, clean and kept together as we can make it. We live how we each individually would like to live and we respect each other for it.
Our T R A D I T I O N S :
Traditions we carry in Grande Prairie are to welcome the New Year with a whole bunch of fireworks and tons live, local bands for free! We also do this on Canada Day, and have a big parade downtown with lots of floats.

11. travel club!
The purpose: To experience the world through travelling, and seeing how other cultures are brought up; especially through school. It’s a chance to learn about how other people are in their daily lives and to experience the foods, culture and how their schooling system works. It’s a chance to meet new people and have lots of friends internationally.

Traditions the travel club have are to travel places every year, and try to experience the culture there; and to gather for meetings.
