Choose a Topic of your own liking (it has to have some relationship to EC or artificial life). Examples project themes include:
Ant Colony Optimization
Uses of EC in the movie industry
What are cellular automata and what can the be used for
Evolving computer viruses
Uses of EC to solve complex optimization problems
Survey on popular classifier system approaches
Evolutionary art
Using EC for Probabilistic Model-Building
Apply Genetic Programming to a problem of your own liking
Application of EC to engineering design (e.g. Antenna design)
Groups of 2-3 student collaborate; no groups 4 or larger!
Create a website (a set of webpages) that summarizes your findings and present your project results in a presentation in the first half of April; Groups of 2 give an 10 minute presentation, groups of 3 give an 15-minute presentation.
The webpage can be a summary, a tutorial, an annotated directory referring to other web-pages, a hyperlinked Powerpoint presentation, a set of animations of algorithms at work,…
My preference is that you create some small amount of material of high quality rather than creating a lot of material of low or medium quality.
