Jazz musicians have been transcribing other musicians’ solos for many years in order to attain the jazz language.
One transcribes by learning music/solos aurally, internalizing the material, then replaying the material.
Jazz is a language and must be obtained and mastered aurally. There is only so much that books can show the student of jazz.
Transcribing provides the most effective way to Understand the style of jazz.
Musicians have been transcribing for years. This program is a tool used to make the process of transcribing solos more feasible and accurate.
Throughout the years musicians have used various tools to help the transcribe. Record players were played at half speed to transcribed even though this caused the recording to play an octave lower. Tapes were handy because walkmans made transcribing portable and easy to rewind. Tapes eventually wore out. CD trainers were able to loop and slow down but not very clearly. Transcribe provides the modern jazz musician with all these tools in one program.
