Next week, all children and teachers with color to their skin will go to _____________Elementary, because by law we must stay separate. Please take the time to write in your Civics in the Triangle booklet how you feel about this. We will have discuss it later.

CAN YOU BELIEVE! Can you believe that this was really the law not long ago. Do you know any people that helped to change unfair laws like these?

Thurgood Marshall He was an African American man who helped change unfair laws. He studied and became a lawyer. He won an important case called “Brown v/s The Board of Education.”

February is Black History Month. Time is taken to celebrate those who have helped make America a wonderful place to live for ALL. We also celebrate women who have helped to make America a better place. Now that women and people of all skin colors are treated fairly, others have had the chance to make a difference too.
