2. Making your own Primary Source
Pretend that you were alive during Lincoln’s assassination and Booth’s escape. Create a primary source/historical document using the details and facts you’ve read so far from the book.
You may create:
a picture/artwork picturing a specific scene
write a newspaper article as if you are reporting on the event
write a song or poem sharing your feelings (at least 10 lines)
write a series of letters or journal entries (at least 3) sharing what has happened (make sure these are in chronological order)
Your primary source must use at least 3 facts from the book to show that it’s accurate
