Mission Vision } and { Mission “Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.” (Proverbs 29:18, ESV) }

Our mission: Hillside exists to worship God and to love and impact our neighbours by being a Christ-like community. Our Vision We are a people in whom God is lovingly exalted. We are, as a body, focussed upon and engaged in relationship with God. We are a people growing in spiritual maturity, being equipped as we equip others. We look more Christ-like in our attitudes and behaviours. We actively invite and welcome people into our church community. We better reflect the demographics of the greater community around us.

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come … You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being … You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth …”

Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty
Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations … For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed …Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!” (Revelation 4:8, 11, 5:9-10, 15:3-4, 19:6-8)

Why is God worthy of our worship?

God is worthy of our worship because of what He has done.

God is worthy not only because of what He has done, but because of what He will do.

God is worthy of our worship because of who He is.

We ought to worship God because He is both “beyond us” (transcendent) and uniquely present with us (immanent).

This week I urge you to think of three reasons why God is worthy of your worship. Write them down, pray them through, and be ready to share them with your House-to-House group.

Might we be drawn past thanksgiving and praise into the worship of God in all that we do. Might we be thankful at all times; might we offer praise in all circumstances and might we choose to worship Him in all that we do.
