The Signs of the Times Dr. Luis Ruiz March 26th, 2017
2
When it is evening, ye say, [It will be] fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, [It will be] foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not [discern] the signs of the times?” A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. (Matt. 16:2-4)
3
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, (2Pet 3:3) How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. (Jude 1:18) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Tim. 3:1)
4
We should rejoice in our salvation
We should rejoice in our salvation! Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: (1Pet 1:6)…Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: (1Pet 1:8)
5
We should stand in the confidence that the present evil is exceedingly temporary
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace” (Psa. 37:7-11).
6
We must do more praying! “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour (1 Tim 2:1-3)
7
We should be busy in the soul harvest fields
We should be busy in the soul harvest fields! “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Pet. 3:9). Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim. 2:4).
8
We should be discipling one another “Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.” (James 5:19-20)
9
We should be comforted that Christ’s return is near
We should be comforted that Christ’s return is near! “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” (Titus 2:13)
