In May 2014 we predicted there were 31 poor waters in 2015 Consideration of latest results predicts 28 poor waters in 2015 Review twice a year

5 Why are we concerned about poor waters?
Any waters that are poor at the end of the 2015 bathing season will need a sign advising the public not to bathe for the 2016 bathing season.

6 Why is there a concerned about poor waters?
After 2015 we cannot use short term pollution discounting at waters classified as poor.

What will happen? Environment Agency Estimates. Assuming - no new actions - we predict that 28 waters will have a sign up advising against bathing in 2016 due to poor classifications in 2015. 5 are currently compliant but unknowns We expect improvements on other waters between to 2020 Working with Defra and partners to establish how to manage the remaining waters. 5 years of poor - permanent advice against bathing
