Our Mission: Equip the homeland security enterprise with timely intelligence and information it needs to keep the homeland safe, secure and resilient. Our Vision: A premier intelligence enterprise, driving intelligence integration, information sharing, and the delivery of unique intelligence and analysis to operators and decision-makers at all levels to help identify and mitigate threats. Our Customers: Frontline operators; our State, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners; Department leadership; the Intelligence Community; federal agencies; and international partners. 4

Private Sector Engagement Mission
Partner Engagement Private Sector SLTT Partner Engagement Establish and leverage partnerships to facilitate bi- and multidirectional intelligence and information sharing, collaborate with key partners to build relationships, gather their support requirements and intelligence needs, and facilitate improvements to I&A products and services in support of our respective Homeland Security missions Private Sector Engagement Ensure that Private Sector critical infrastructure owners and operators and Private Sector decision-makers are equipped with the intelligence and information necessary to fulfill their mission requirements

Importance of Private Sector
Private Sector entities include, but are not limited to: academia, non-profits, NGOs, and businesses Private Sector entities own / operate significant Critical Infrastructure in the United States Although there are differences across sectors and companies, each private sector entity has unique strengths and capabilities 8

Presidential Policy Directive – 21 PPD-21 – Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience
DHS leads Federal government effort to secure critical infrastructure (CI) in conjunction with owners and operators PPD-21 established 16 Critical Infrastructure (CI) sectors and defined the role of the Sector Specific Agencies (SSAs) and other Federal agencies Aims to make the nation's critical infrastructure more resilient through a coordinated "national unity effort" between the Federal Government, CI owners and operators, and SLTT governments and law enforcement CI includes both physical and cyber infrastructure CI threats are viewed from an all hazards perspective Renewed focus on maturing the public-private partnership and information exchange

Public-Private Analytic Exchange Program
Sponsored by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence with I&A serving as the Executive Agent Enables Government and Private Sector analysts to gain a greater understanding of how their distinct missions can benefit from public- private collaboration on topics of mutual interest Collaborative partnership between select Private Sector subject matter experts and U.S. Government analysts Six-month projects consisting of ten topic teams researching emerging trends in homeland and national security (3-5 hours weekly) The 2018 AEP kicked off in January and has over 100 participants on 8 new teams and one returning team Applications for the 2019 AEP will be released this fall 11

Public-Private Analytic Exchange Program Outcomes and Deliverables
Going Dark: Impact to Law Enforcement and the Intelligence Community and Threat Mitigation: Phase II project exploring policy side of Going Dark Intellectual Property Rights: Provided best practices on IP to various departments across a participant’s company supply chain Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS): Held a seminar and table top exercise with New York First Responders ISIL Finance: Team member co-authored an article that appeared in the Council on Foreign Relations’ Foreign Affairs magazine “Can Bankers Fight Terrorism?” 2016 and 2017 Deliverables available at: 13

Offers Private Sector partners an opportunity to engage with Federal, State, and Local Personnel on homeland security related issues Events are held around the country annually, hosted by Private Sector partners Briefs Private Sector partners, including small and medium businesses, on unclassified intelligence and threat information, as well as protective measures for reducing risk Provides Private Sector partners with opportunities to engage with DHS field representatives in their region and establish new or build on existing relationships to improve information sharing efforts

Small groups of I&A Analysts meet with Analysts from the Private Sector to learn more about each other’s job function, how each uses intelligence to inform their customers, and discuss potential opportunities for collaboration

Critical Infrastructure Owners / Operators
Support to Critical Infrastructure Owners / Operators Engagements I&A, in collaboration with DHS / Office of Infrastructure Protection: Frequently brief Private Sector partners on significant changes to the threat environment, results of recent terrorism investigations, and relevant suspicious activity reporting Deliver regular classified briefings to cleared members of key critical infrastructure sectors Disseminate products of interest to the private sector at the unclassified and classified levels Provide access to its products to the private sector through the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) For more information about HSIN, please contact
