Graduation Requirements

Failed Courses Make up with Teacher - $40 (quarter following when F was issued.) After School make up at SEA - $40 Electronic High School - Free BYU Independent Study - $$$ All make up credit for graduation must be completed by April 15th. YOU are responsible for verifying the grade change on your transcript.

90% Attendance Policy Seniors must have 90% attendance to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Diplomas Cedar High Diploma Cedar High Requirements 28 Credits
Participate in the Cedar High graduation ceremony. Iron County Diploma Fulfill state requirements 24 Credits, Student can’t participate in Cedar High graduation ceremony, but may participate in the ceremony at the alternative high school, SEA.

Graduation Recognition
Diploma Of Merit - awarded to students who have pursued a more in-depth program of study. Applications are due in February. Academic Medallion - a 3.8 cumulative GPA each year during high school will automatically qualify CTE Pathway Completer - More in depth program of study in the CTE programs. It will be awarded if requirements are completed.

College Application Week
During the weeks of November 16-20, students will be given time to fill out Applications for College or Tech Schools. Students should be thinking of schools in which they would be interested in applying.

College Applications Most college applications are due in early spring. Many schools have a Priority Scholarship deadline in December. Please check your college choice for specific deadlines.

Scholarships EVERY college and university has its own deadlines. Be sure to check the websites. There are many options to search for scholarships. Some include :Utahfutures.org, the CHS website counseling page, and Fastweb or meet with your counselor.

Federal Student Financial Aid Application Financial Aid Night November 5th at 6:00 pm Use this site to apply for federal financial aid. They will evaluate your situation and award you grants, low interest loans, and/or work study based on need.

NCAA Eligibility Center
If you are thinking about participating in athletics in college, you need to register with the NCAA at NCAA requires more academic classes than are required for graduation.

Job Corps Utah: Job Corps is a comprehensive technical training program for ages Students live on campus and have up to two years to complete their training. Funded by the US Department of Labor, Job Corps trains 62,000 students each year at 122 centers across the country.
