1 Fruit Hybrids Real or Not?

2 Tayberry- raspberry and blackberry
REAL - British berry growers found a way to combine both fruits into the tayberry in The berry is difficult to pick commercially, however, so it has never been incorporated into commercial farming. Wikimedia

3 Grapple- apple and grape
Technically, the grapple is not a hybrid. The company starts fresh harvested Gala or Fuji apples and using a special patented process they combine concentrated grape flavor with pure water then gently bathe the apples in this delicious grape mixture. So it is a grape flavor infused into the apple, no plant breeding techniques required! Grapple

4 Tangelo- tangerine and grapefruit
Real! According to the University of Arizona, the tangelo was probably created thousands of years ago through insect cross pollination. The Tangelo has become a consumer favorite because Tangelos are larger than tangerines, less seedy and have a more intense flavor.

5 Tomangrante- tomato and pomegranate
Not real! While it might be great to grow a tomato with pomegranate inside, this is not currently possible! Topito

6 Cucamelon Real - The cucamelon is native to Mexico and South America. Cucamelons grow to be about the size of a grape and they look like tiny, baby watermelons. It tastes like a cucumber soaked in lime juice. You could grow these in your garden.

7 Baniwi- banana and kiwi
Not real! This was a viral video last year where a man claimed (it was an April’s Fools) this was the result of planting a smushed together part of a kiwi and part of banana.Unfortunately with today’s plant breeding techniques this hybrid is not possible. Photograph by Becky Harland

8 Cotton Candy flavored Grapes
Grapery Real! The cotton candy flavored grapes were discovered through years of selecting varieties for flavor and trying out a wide range of cross pollination combinations. You can find more information here and see photos of their grape breeding labs:
