STP- Spanning-Tree Protocol
MST – Multi-Instance Spanning-Tree Protocol
PVST – Per-Vlan Spanning-Tree Protocol

Portfast – allows port to skip listening/learning phase

Express Setup for the 8000/8300
Make sure that at least one switch Ethernet port is available for Express Setup.
Configure Network Interface on Computer to obtain an address ( DHCP )
Power up switch
Will be ready to begin the express setup when the EIP Mod and Setup LED is blinking green.
Press and release the Express setup button
Connect to blinking port ( Typically FastEthernet Port 1 )
Attempt to access any web address ( re-direct )
Default password is switch with 12.2(52) and greater – blank earlier

Dual NICs / Wireless and NIC
Disable second NIC / Wireless or Manually enter ip ( )
