3. The infinitives of Verbs
In Spanish, there are verbs that end in –AR, -ER, and –IR.
Remember that the infinitive of a verb is the “to _____” form that would be found in a dictionary.
Here are some –ER verbs in the infinitive.

4. Aprender
To learn
Aprender is often followed by a + infinitive of another verb.
Example: Ustedes aprenden a hablar español.

5. agua, jugo, leche, refrescos
Beber
To drink
agua, jugo, leche, refrescos
water, juice, milk, pop

6. Comer
To eat

7. Comprender
To understand

8. Correr
To run

9. Creo que sí/no = I do/don’t think (believe) so
Creer (en)
To believe (in)

10. Deber Should, must, ought to
Deber is generally followed by the infinitive of a verb.
Example: Debes estudiar español.

Steps for conjugating regular –ER verbs in the present tense:
Remove the –ER ending
Add the following endings for the singular and plural subject pronouns: o
