What it looks like The size of an adult wood duck is 40-51 cm.
It has feathers. Its’ colors are blue, white, green, and yellow It has webbed feet so that it can walk across mud.

How it breathes and moves
It breathes through its’ nose. It flies, swims, floats, and walks on its feet in mud.

Where it lives and what it eats
It lives near the water in a tree. Spends a lot of time near trees and water. It eats grain, pellets, snails, worms, and green leaves.

What it does in winter Migrates to the United States and the north coast.

Family Life Cycle The wood duck is hatched from an egg and raised by both parents.

Enemies/Protection Their enemies are snapping turtles, large fish, foxes, racoons, and other predators. They can fly away from their enemies. As well their color blends into the trees so they are hard to see.

Other Information When they fly, their wings make a whistle sound.
