3 Introduction Slopestyle Snowboarding is a very young and upcoming sport that has only participated in the Olympics twice, first time back in Sochi Slopestyle can cause a lot of wear and tear on the muscles of the competitors as they are constantly in the air or landing from high up heights. Slopestyle snowboarding was very popular in the X games, which led to the inclusion of the sport in the 2014 and 2018 Olympic games.

Slopestyle became Olympic events at Sochi 2014. Athletes take turns to go down a course including of obstacles such as rails, jumps, and various other park features. Points are recorded for originality, amplitude, and the execution of the tricks.

6 Rules Riders will make their way down a course consisting of rails/ramps, as well as three jumps. Judges score from several factors which include: Amplitude, Difficulty, Execution, Variety and Progression.

8 Physical Snowboarding requires both muscle strength and technique to remain balanced and perform consistently run after run. Slopestyle demands a strong abdomen and powerful legs. Proper conditioning and a good exercise routine will result in improved stamina and reduce fatigue.

17 Olympic Standards To be the best in the world, you would first have to beat the best in the world. At this moment in time Red Gerard is the best in the world at this event after as he was the Gold Medalist at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

20 Fitness Slopestyle athlete put a lot of focus on their lower-body when it comes to their fitness exercises. Exercises for snowboarders include jump squats, walking lunges and stationary cycling. These drills help build endurance, leg strength and explosive power which are crucial elements for olympic snowboarders.

21 Coordination ‘Dry-land training’ enables athletes to train aspects of aerial jumps at high volume in low-risk training environments such as trampoline.
