25% of the working population will reach retirement by 2010 78 million Baby Boomers will account for the largest voluntary workforce exodus in US history IT operations will be affected Operations and systems programming staffs who develop and maintain legacy applications and project managers are greatest risk Remaining staff become targets for recruiting from other companies

Decreasing Supply of College Graduates
Fewer students entering computer science fields Annual demand is 135,000 graduates Annual supply is 49,000 graduates 50% fewer doctoral candidates in the past 5 years 75% of the doctoral degrees going to non-US citizens 70% decline in interest in computer science as a major from to 2005.
