Plants: Responding to Light
Why do plants respond to light?
7
One of the things that plants need to survive is light
One of the things that plants need to survive is light. It uses energy from the light to make its food. Because plants can make their own food, they are called producers. When a plant is placed under a light source, such as the sun, it will turn its leaves and bend its stem toward the light. This is called phototropism.
