In the beginning There were the podcasts Tours of each floor
Updated in 2010 Technically challenging Needed updating with the arrival of Bulmershe Collections Until 2010 had enhanced podcasts with pictures. Decided too much time to update so just updated the audio files

We wanted… To move away from floor by floor tours – difficult to maintain and would they be used anyway? A resource that any liaison librarian could use in a introductory talk on the Library A resource for marketing the Library on open days Extra support for users for completing key tasks

Choice of music How to upload to website and make available Light touch branding for videos such as ours Consistency of transitions and text box styles Video footage shot over two days – Ellie wearing a different outfit! Uploading to streaming server for podcasts was tedious – much easier for this, to drop in through BB and ITS send a link to go into website

Paid for and installed on Sony laptop Record…anything Edit…afterwards Produce…with interactivity? PowerPoint websites webcams software (e.g. EndNote) Cut , splice, zoom, transitions and captions Sound (e.g. can remove sound of typing)

Jing – what’s it all about?
Jing a free, lite version of Camtasia Easy to use but basic functionality static screenshot capture and simple annotation record on screen actions and sound; no native video editing Save file to play in browser/media player Upload to Screencast.com to share via URL Online tutorial

Jing: have a go Login to a PC
Open Jing via the All programs list (look for TechSmith) Use Jing to record yourself doing something on web eg searching for a book on Unicorn Upload to share
