Reading comprehension strategies are taught directly through read aloud experience
Children learn to use these strategies during Guided Reading and Independent Daily Reading
Vocabulary is taught through literature
Social component – thinking, listening, sharing

Small group instruction and work stations that are planned for children’s reading levels.
Develop reading strategies and apply decoding and/or phonics skills
