Terms Related to Tolerance
Intolerance – unwillingness to accept differences in opinions or beliefs of others. Prejudice – An adverse judgement or opinion formed beforehand without knowledge of the facts.

Discrimination- Treatment or consideration based on class or category rather than individual merit.
Intimidation – Being made to feel afraid or timid.

Persecution – Punishment or harassment, usually of a severe nature due to race, religion, or political opinion in one’s country of origin. Oppression- An unjust or excessive exercise of power.

Propaganda – Information that is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause.
Genocide – The systemic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group.

Occupation The controlling of a country or an area by a foreign military force.

Scapegoat – Person or groups of persons unfairly blamed for wrongs done by others.
