A Peek At The Week
-In reading we are continuing to switch to our leveled reading groups. Students are participating in small group instruction and independent work time.
-During math we will continue practice with number bonds and identifying the parts and whole. This week we will focus on solving word problems by finding key words and showing our work with a picture.
-Writing time will be used on writing a story on something that we can do all by ourselves. Students will work hard to create a 4 Star story! Which includes neat handwriting, finger spaces, capitals, periods, and a neat illustration.
-During our Core Knowledge time we will begin our unit on Animals and Habitats. This week students will learn what a habitat is, and also about the Arctic, Desert, Savannah, and Forest habitats.
Homework Ideas
-Homework is always copied on yellow paper so that it is easily seen in our everyday folders.
-Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays - reading homework
-Tuesdays and Thursdays - math homework

-September 15th: First annual Monfort Jog-a-thon fundraiser (during specials times, 1:20-2:15)
-September 18th- NO school for students, Parent Teacher Conferences
-Parent-teacher conferences are Monday, September 18th 12-8pm and Tuesday, September 19th 4-8pm
-Field Day is scheduled for Friday, September 22nd
-September 29th Spirit day: College Day

-Fall is coming! The mornings are starting to get chilly so remember to send your kiddo to school with a light jacket to help stay warm during morning recess before school starts!
