Why BYOD? Putnam County is implementing Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) which allows students, with parental permission, to bring internet ready devices to school to enhance the educational process. The County is evaluating BYOD as a means to allow more students access to technology in the classroom. Benefits BYOD include: Students are more engaged in the learning process. Students have more opportunities to personalize learning. Students are better prepared for the workplace and post-secondary education. Students can learn at their own pace in the manner that best suits their learning styles More students have access than when relying strictly on county owned devices.
