September 29, 2017 Language Arts/Classroom Skills Math Guidance
Identifying & writing our first name Pencil, scissor and glue skills Letters Cc and Dd (sound, letter recognition, handwriting, and sign language) Listening skills Color word – yellow Literature about apples Math Calendar math Number 3 and 4 Shapes – circle, square & triangle Tally marks Number bonds Ten frames Even and odd numbers Guidance Olweus Anti-Bullying Assembly This week we talked about apples and their lifecycle from seed to tree, and flowers to fruit. A few kids are excited to do a taste test at home to see if they like red, green or yellow apples best! The children also had their health screenings and picture day this week. What a busy time! This week the students also practiced writing their first name using proper uppercase and lowercase letters. Please have them continue to practice this when they write their name at home. Next week they will get their first taste of “homework” when I send home their October Fun-Work and some first and last name writing practice. Next week we will learn more letters of the alphabet, and we will continue with our numbers and shapes in math.
