Exposition
Conflict -the character who wants something is opposed by another character or force which is the source of the conflict
Complication -additional problems arise in the play
Climax -the moment of great emotional intensity
Resolution-the final part of the play, where the conflict is resolved and the story is brought to a close

Dialogue is a conversation between characters. * Set off by quotation marks * Follows the name of the character in a play

Irony is a contrast between expectations and reality.
