Blood and stool testing should be performed for both the donor and the intended FMT recipient. Testing should include infectious disease screening, including HIV and Hepatitis A, B, C, as well as general measures of health, including standard hematology and biochemistry. A 3-day stool test should be used to ensure any infections with difficult-to-detect pathogens are not overlooked.
