Expand think tank to larger groups to share, train, track interventions, develop strategies (2015)

4. Empowering Men to Heal Communities—Training
Using evidence-based, trauma-informed model, Men’s Recovery and Empowerment Model (M–TREM)
Integrate Rites of Passage approach to heal the community by working with African American men, male youths, and families

5. Training objectives
Learn about culturally appropriate strategies to develop programs and provide services targeting trauma-impacted African American (AA) males.
Increase knowledge regarding the connection between AA history and the social determinants of AA health disparities.
Acquire important knowledge related to mentoring AA men, youths, and families using the Pyramid mentoring approach.
Understand asset mapping as a tool to empower AA men, youth, and families.
Join the collaborative or Network of Organizations, Institutions, and Programs to design and implement the First Annual “Empowering Men to Heal Communities” Conference in fall 2015.
