6 NEW INITIATIVES IN FY19 Project & Technical Assistance Grants
Supports projects that target the technical development of tourism 25% cash match Maximum award of $15,000 Lead applicant tourism operating budget cannot exceed $500,000 Rolling applications. 8 CRAFT STUDIO 101 Provides broad, comprehensive tourism education and training for rural communities or regions on how to build tourism into an economic development strategy Duration: 12 Weeks, with six in-person community training days Recommended for: Group of partners within a community or region in the early stages of exploring tourism development FY18 Recipients: Huerfano County, City of Trinidad FY19 Recipients: City of La Junta, Moffat County Number of available offerings in FY19: 4 Next Round of Applications open: December 3, 2018 After successful completion of CRAFT Studio 101, participants are eligible to apply for funding to implement a key priority determined during program. Up to $10,000 available for a CRAFT Studio 101 Implementation Grant Ten initiatives created to help advance local economies and which include a range of economic development tools that can be accessed by communities and regions across the state. Other Initiatives are: Coworking 101, Community Placemaking, Tiny Homes Workshop, Certified Small Business Community, Brand Building for Communities, Film and major production Initiative, Creativity Lab of Colorado and Data-Driven Approach to Economic Development

15 CRAFT STUDIO 201 Provides customized support for communities or regions wishing to advance a specific tourism-related goal or strategy Check out Blueprint Tourism Promotion and Development Initiative Recommended for: Group of tourism partners within a community or region with identified tourism assets and promotional strategy Go to: FY18 Recipients: Rio Blanco County and Leadville-Lake County Number of available offerings in FY19: 2 Applications open: April, 2019 After successful completion of CRAFT Studio 201, participants are eligible to apply for funding to implement a key priority determined during program. Up to $7,500 available for a CRAFT Studio 201 Implementation Grant Ten initiatives created to help advance local economies and which include a range of economic development tools that can be accessed by communities and regions across the state. 16 CRAFT MENTOR Provides up to 50 hours of mentoring for organizations or tourism-related businesses wishing to advance a specific tourism-related goal or strategy. Duration: Maximum of 50 hours from mentor; timeframe determined by participant and mentor Recommended for: Organizations, nonprofits, tourism-related businesses Number of CRAFT Mentor Projects in FY18: 17 Applications open: Applications accepted on an ongoing basis After successful completion of CRAFT Mentor, participants are eligible to apply for funding to implement a key priority determined during program. Up to $1,000 available for a CRAFT Mentor Implementation Grant On our end we have to grow cultural, heritage and agritourism attractions to both educate travelers, preserve, and generate revenue. 20 CRAFT WORKSHOPS Intensive training and work for communities or regions wishing to advance a tourism-related strategy relating to specific industry segments. Workshops will be offered for Culinary & Agritourism, Heritage and Cultural Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Cycling Tourism and Sustainable Tourism Duration: days Recommended for: Group of tourism partners within a community or region with 1-2 local champions to be point of contact for CTO and at least 8 other community members Applications open: Applications accepted on a rolling basis throughout FY19 until April 1, 2019 After successful completion of a CRAFT Workshop, participating communities or regions are eligible to apply for funding to implement a key priority determined during workshop. Up to $2,500 available for a CRAFT Workshop Implementation Grant
