A recent website enhancement includes linking mini-grant information to program directory entries. As you can see here Mall Science was awarded a Mini-Grant. By clicking the Mini-Grant Awardee link I am taken directly to the information on their collaborative project.

You can see that Mall Science and Physics in Philadelphia collaborated to provide a program called “Science and the Magic of Macy’s” and they were awarded a mini-grant for this project.

Another new enhancement to the online Program Directory is being able to add a Program Affiliation. Currently the affiliations listed include: : 4-H, American Association of University Women, Appalachian Information Technology Extension Services, Girl Scouts, Girls, Inc., Great Science for Girls, National Academy of Engineering Center or the Advancement of Scholarship on Engineering Education, STEM Equity Pipeline, and Society of Women Engineers. If a program was entered prior to this enhancement the affiliation is currently set to none. A message went out in the January newsletter encouraging people to log-in and update their listing and a message will go next week to notify all PD registrants of this enhancement as well.

The next feature I’d like to highlight is My Watchlist, which you will see here on the left hand menu.

Under Programs if you click “My Watchlist” you can enter criteria you would like to be notified of if someone submits a program that matches your criteria. You can see here that you can “watch” City, State, Zip Code, Program Name, or Organization.

Just a reminder that the NGCP Program Directory should be featured at every NGCP event. These slides will be accessible on SharePoint if you would like to use them for local presentations about the Program Directory or Website. The Program Directory entry is self-managed by the registrant. For example, the user that created this 4-H listing in TN can access their program entry at any time and make updates simply by clicking the edit link you see on the right hand side. If for some reason, the program contact changes and an organization needs to edit their information and they do not have the creators login or password, simply have them contact myself and I can go in on the back end and change registrants of the program entry. Remember, we do vett programs and so the program will remain in a pending status until a national team member approves it. This normally only takes a few hours, but we say on the confirmation to provide 48 hours for approval. This is especially important during mini-grant application periods. A program entry must be approved prior to a program submitting a mini-grant application.
