Prototype Build Process - Reel System
Sawed off one bearing flange on each support to allow them to fit between snap rings. Drilled a small hole on end caps to attach tether Several snap rings broken. Needed 4, used 9. Flat head screws attach end caps to reel. Aluminum plate on top of wood used to mount.

Prototype Build Process - Motor
Milled out two ¼’’ slots on the mounting plate Aligned the motor into position having tension on the belt Used two ¼’’ Screws with washers hold plate down Searched for capless set screws to mount gear Motor was electrically connected to electrical housing

Prototype Build Process - Base Plate
Used previous team’s three leg configuration Attached two Eye-Bolts on either side for steaks Holes drilled using mill machine after marking hole placement with special tools Added thread liners onto top surface for motor Drilled holes using the reel’s flat plate Screwed on the electrical components box Screwed on Ring Plate structure
12
Electrical Wired up full system on protoboard.
Tested full system in Dr. Gomes lab but were unsuccessful. Without this functionality no field test was performed with the reel in and out. This needs to be done ASAP.
