School Wide Identified Disability Specialized Instruction
Special Education Custom Supports for Individual Students without IEPs Behavior Intervention Coach School Wide Behavior Systems Positive Behavior Intervention Support School Wide: Most general education students behavorial needs are met by PBIS. Specialized Instruction: students with IEP’s are supported by Special Education Services. Intervention Services initiative is to build capacity in schools to implement Tier I,II, and III behavior interventions to support “individual students” for which school wide behavior supports are not enough, to assist schools with this Intervention Services has provided “Behavior Intervention Coach” support for all elementary schools.

It may be time to request a Behavior Coach when…
Classroom instruction is frequently disrupted. The behavior is uncommon; not sure what to do. Interventions developed by school based teams didn’t work. Team is considering a DEC 1 referral for behavior. Frequent Office Referrals. Missing a lot of classroom instructions. Unsafe toward self or others. Often in conflict with peers. Who are the students we are targeting? Frequently sent out of class or referred to the office. They are disruptive in the class environment and it impacts their learning and the learning of others. They may constantly be in conflict with their peers. You have tried interventions and they are not working.

They will collaborate with classroom teachers, intervention specialists, counselors, psychologists, and administration. Academic Skills Social Skills Collaboration with an integrated approach.
