Work alone or cooperatively

Increase attention spans
Provide choice
The space should reflect children’s developmental needs, interests, and program goals.
A well-organized space allows teachers to spend more time nurturing and less time redirecting children’s behaviour.

3. Goals for well-planned space:
Providing a physically safe environment for children.
Providing areas that promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth.
Providing adults with a space that is easy to surpervise.
Providing space that is pleasing to the eye for adults and children.
Providing easy access to materials so children are able to direct themselves.
Providing space where children can work and play comfortably.
