2. Purpose
Reserve Affiliations options and obligations for joining of Selected Reserves (SERLES)

3. STandards
Signed up for 4 years active service and 4 years Ready Reserve at MEP( total of 8 years in the military)
Any part of that served on active will be served in Reserve Component unless member is discharged sooner.
Over 8 years of service is not require to join.

4. Selected reserves (SelRes) obligations
Member can join National guard, a reserve unit, or a reserve individual programs
Member could be called back to active duty in case of national emergency
Member could be called back to active duty involuntarily up 270 days for operations purposes.
Member will meet with there particular units for at least one week out of the month or two weeks annual training per year

5. Individual ready reserve(irr)
Automatically or involuntarily will be sign if member wish not to join Selected Reserves
IRR members maybe be involuntarily recalled upon declaration of national emergency, or otherwise annual day of muster duty to satisfy statutory requirements
Member can voluntary for temporary tours of active duty and military professional development education programs
No pay or benefits

6. Benefits for joining
Receive 4 days of basic pay for weekend drills/mustor
Educational assistance
Navy exchange and commissary privileges
Retirement benefits
TRICARE reserve select health plans
