4 Scheduling for 11th grade
February 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th: classroom presentations on course selections out of U.S. History. What to look for when students come home on after presentations: Handouts: registration packet, 11th grade course selection sheet, scheduling card and transcript Pull out course description book or look up descriptions online. Please make sure to discuss selections w/ students Complete 4 year plan worksheet (in registration packet) Please make sure to sign the scheduling card February 15th : scheduling cards due back to U.S. History class March 9th-11th : input course selections on computer Check that website has updated course description book

12 Updates!! Math Related Courses: There have been new state & district approved courses for senior year math classes (after completion of Algebra 2). These classes are considered math related and include: Accounting 1, 2, 3 & 4, Financial Math and Analysis, Computer Programming 1 & 2 and AP Computer Science, Woodworking & Advanced Woodworking, Physics, Fundamentals of Physics, and all CAD classes (Computer Aided Drafting).

34 College Night Each year Rochester Community Schools hosts a College Night/Fair in the fall (October) All are welcome colleges & universities attend Collect brochures, gather information and speak with university representatives In 2011 it will be held at Stoney Creek HS

35 College Rep Visits at SC
Fall of junior year College reps will visit the school to provide presentations to groups of students who are interested in learning about their college Dates and times of visits are listed in counseling office Student sign up in the counseling They will receive a pass to attend the meeting

36 College Applications Applications are sent to colleges starting September of senior year Students can start to write essays over the summer before senior year to take some load off Online applications are very common

37 NCAA Eligibility Students interested in Division I or II college athletics need to make sure they meet eligibility requirements Core Courses NCAA Division I requires 16 core courses. This rule applies to any student first entering any Division I college or university on or after August 1, 2008. NCAA Division II requires 16 core courses (as of August 1, 2013). Test scores Division 1: sliding scale Division 2: ACT sum score
