2. America Joins the War
The U.S. believed that the war in Europe was not their problem.
America was making huge profits from the Allies. (weapons)
The U.S. government was also gave War Loans in the area of 2 Billion dollars.

3. America is forced to Join the war
The Germans need to cut off the supply lines of the Allies.
U-Boats started sinking any boats sailing in British water. This was called unrestricted submarine warfare.

4. Last Straw
The Zimmerman Telegram asked Mexico to join the Germans if America joins the war.
The Americans declares war on Germany on April 6th , 1917.

5. Getting Ready For War

6. Russia Backs out The revolution in Russia is in full swing in 1917.
People disliked the Tsar, sick of the war, and suffering from a shortage of supplies.
The Tsar was overthrown and a new Provisional Government replaced him.

7. One last try…
The new Government attacked the Germans one last time. The German counter attacked had the Russians on the run. (Thousands of Deserters)
Lenin leads a second revolution and takes control of the government.
Lenin makes peace with Germany to get Russia out of the war.
