Joint Funded Executive Medical Board UCSF Health Funded Core Financial Plan: IT Roadmap Funded IT Governance Steering Ron Arenson, Chair Care Technology Traci Hoiting & Russ Cucina, Co-Chairs Business Mike Nordberg, Chair Research Tom Ferrin, Chair Education Kevin Souza, Chair Tech & Arch. Karen O’Neill, Chair IT Governance Steering Committee controls a $5.0 M annual project budget to meet specific IT needs for UCSF Research, Education and Campus Administration. A separate project budget is available for UCSF Health related IT needs.

UC Health Data Center Strategy UCSF Data Center Plan UC Health has agreed to a 2-data center strategy. Utilize co-lo data center services at San Diego Super Computing Center Dell in Quincy, WA. Maintain local facilities for required local computing needs. Install UCSF/BCHO Epic at new location. Migrate UCSF MCB & Minn. St. data centers. * Migrate BCHO Sacramento data center. Establish SDSC as UCSF / BCHO DR. Use Mission Bay Energy Center for local computing. BCHO cost to migrate and resulting savings is not in the following financial analysis. 16 iRocket – Student Performance Dashboard
Shows Student performance in two of the 6 UCSF MD competencies; Professionalism and Medical Knowledge The integrated view of performance data provided by the iROCKET Student Dashboard allows students to gauge their relative strengths and areas for improvement in multiple essential competency domains, and, with their faculty mentors, to develop data-driven action plans. 17 Resident Dashboard – in development
Shows Residents their case volumes and key performance metrics Provides residents with information on their inpatient, outpatient, operative procedure volumes and key metrics such as SSI Rate, Surgical note timeliness, discharges before noon, and encounter close timeliness. Due to be released in July 2015 in time for the new class of Residents. Note: This is a develop view of the dashboards. Better visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, trends) will be included in the final dashboard. Global view of faculty controlled funding to aid management of contracts, grants, gifts, start-up retention and discretionary funding A new “global view” of all faculty-controlled funding that can be access by faculty and administrators.
