4 A memoir is a story about a specific and meaning moment in someone’s life. A theme is an author’s message about an issue. It is expressed in a complete sentence, not just one word. Key Terms

5 Pair Work – “First Love”
flatter (verb)  to make someone feel important or attractive, or to praise someone in order to please him or her Flattery (noun) Explain what the following quote means in your own words. “I learned one little lesson about human nature – adulation (flattery) leaves a scent, one that we are all equipped to recognize, and no matter how insignificant the source, we seek it.” 2.
