Instructions: Correct the following sentence in the Bell Ringer section of your notebook. Draw a line separating the subject part of the sentence from the predicate. 5 VOCABULARY SPOTLIGHT 5 minutes
Before submitting Trifold #1, you will conduct a peer review. Swap trifolds with your neighbor. Read each sentence and determine if the vocab words have been used correctly. If you believe a word has been used incorrectly, work with the author to confirm & correct. If you both still have concerns about how a word has been used, put a star next to it so that I can review it. Listen carefully for instructions on submitting your trifold. Peer Review Trifold #1

6 Dissecting Memoir Instructions: Work with students who have read the same story to answer the following questions. Why was this event important to the author? What does the author hope to achieve by sharing this? How do you know? How will you apply the same format/structure to your own story?

7 Map Your Personal Narrative
Using the graphic organizer provided: describe the details of your significant event and determine how you will tell your story Explain why it is important. You will need to bring this completed graphic organizer to the computer lab on Monday. It will serve as a guide for your personal narrative. Failure to complete it or to bring it will not exempt you from writing the first draft.
