CPA members asked over 10 questions of the Board members in attendance, Peter Wilson & Robyn Erskine.
The topics discussed during the session:
The need for a strategy to address the broadening role of accountants. There was a view that there is significant opportunity in the financial planning space, and this is a potential growth area, especially as traditional accounting services are broadening. CPA Australia Advice was discussed in this context.
Remuneration for the board and former CEO, and how benchmarking for board and the CEO salary was conducted
Role of board chair and the President, and how these are different
Marketing for public practitioners, including the upcoming campaign focussed directly on public practitioners and their role
The leadership of the current board Chair and the CEO, and if they are going to operate as the public face of the organisation
The current proposal for Directors to only be appointed for a third term if certain requirements are met, and how this will be assessed
The need for local branches to have access to additional funds in order to provide services targeted at the local members
Diversity of the board and executive team, focused on ensuring youth are represented.
