Corals Probability - The chance that something will occur in relation to the possible alternatives Many things can affect the coral and harm them Water temperature must be warm between ° F or ° C Sunlight so the algae can function Clear water to let sunlight through Clean water because they are sensitive to pollution Saltwater because they need a certain salt to water ratio
7
Variance Variance - Two values that are used in statistics to describe how far away your data are from the mean
8
TDC ( theoretical distribution curve) of Sea Cigars
Theoretical Distribution Curve – The ideal picture of a distribution based upon random sampling
9
TTest TTest – an equation used to calculate the t-statistic designed to test whether there is a significant difference between the means of two independent samples. This equation includes the mean, the number, the variance and the probability.
10
Chi-Square A Chi-square test is used to see if there are any significant difference between data sites or sources. Since p < .05 we reject the null hypothesis and therefore there is a significant difference in the survival rates between beach sites.
