Which one? Garrett likes his hat. Chloe wants that book. How many? Seth hopes for no homework. Shrutie drank three cups of tea. Almost everyone brought tissues. What kind? Achilles chose the gold shield to use to fight the brave, Trojan warriors.

3 Which one? Possessive nouns/pronouns: her, his, its, my, our, Jane’s, Ammon’s, Beowulf’s… Articles: a, an ,the Use “an” before a verb that starts with a vowel sound “an herbal tea” and “a” before a word that does not start with a vowel sound “a historical document” or “a university degree” Sometimes “the” works as an adverb… “Wyatt runs the fastest”

5 What kind Age – young, old, ancient Color
Type – American, European, bright, wide, deep, warm, sparkly, stiff, dark etc

6 Placement Single-word adjectives come either before the noun being modified or after a be or linking verb. WHEN IT FOLLOWS THE VERB we call it a SUBJECTIVE COMPLEMENT The fuzzy puppy is sleeping. The puppy is fuzzy. When in phrases there is a typical order: which one, how many, what kind. She paid for the three chocolate cookies.

7 Punctuating Adj If there are more than two adjectives in a phrase put a comma between them. The three, small, old, brown mice ate cookie crumbs. Tall, strong, angry Achilles stabbed Hector.
