2 Beleaguer Besiege; attack
A group of Greek kingdoms, led by Agamemnon, laid siege to the city of Troy for 9 years. According to legend, the Greeks won the battle by constructing a large wooden horse which they offered to the Trojans as a gift. When the Trojans brought the horse into the city, their fate was sealed, for the Greeks were hiding inside.

3 Consecrate Didicate In ancient Greece, the consecrated, or sacred place of a god was a temple. One of the most important and famous is the Parthenon, the temple consecrated to the goddess Athena, giving Athens its name as it was a city dedicated and entrusted to her care.

The gods negate his cries for mercy as he wastes away in Hades.

When Odysseus arrives in Phaeacia, he is brought before the king. By way of introduction, Odysseus summarizes his conquests in Troy and his journey home.

10 Succinct Concise (short, terse, abbreviated)
Above the door to the Oracle at Delphi, there was a succinct command inscribed: “ΓΝΩΘΙ ΣΑΥΤΟΝ” or “Know Thyself.” This encouraged pilgrims to remember their mortality as they approached the Oracle to ask questions. It is from this inscription that Socrates says, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”

In order to waylay her pursuers, Madea chopped her brother into bits as she and Jason escaped from her home city of Colchis with the golden fleece.
