6 50 years of Impact Founded in 1965 by families seeking alternative services. In the 1970s, Lifeworks started a home-visiting program for infants. In 1985, Lifeworks began providing supported employment services. In 2000, Lifeworks started providing fiscal support services. Today, Lifeworks serves 2,500 people with disabilities and partners with nearly 300 businesses in providing employment opportunities for those we serve.

Entrepreneurship ranges in scale from DAY SERVICES EMPLOYMENT FISCAL SUPPORT Art, music, wellness, and technology classes at Lifeworks locations and in the community. Job readiness, placement, and retention support for adults and transitioning students. Individualized budget and benefit planning, plus payroll services for staff members hired by families.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES Lighting the path to jobs that become careers. Job Creation In 2016, Lifeworks helped 121 new job seekers with disabilities begin or restart their career in the community. Community Focused As of December 2016, 85 percent of the people we serve who have work as a goal are employed in the community. High Satisfaction 97 percent of co-workers, supervisors, and human resources staff reported they are satisfied or very satisfied with Lifeworks and would recommend our services to other businesses.

DAY SERVICES Putting inclusion, community, and empowerment into practice. The Lifeworks Community Hundreds of individuals participate in day programming at six Lifeworks locations in the Twin Cities and Mankato. Finding Your Passion Community inclusion activities covering art, music, birding, fitness, and many other areas allow people to pursue their interests, build relationships with peers, and be a part of the community. Getting Involved 483 volunteers provided over 6,950 hours of service in 2016.

FISCAL SUPPORT It’s amazing what you can do when you have a little help. Directing Services 1,500 individuals currently use Lifeworks Fiscal Support services to gain more control over the care they receive and have more time to focus on the things that matter to them. Lifeworks is there for you As an approved fiscal support entity through the state of Minnesota, Lifeworks helps individuals enrolled in the Consumer Directed Community Supports and Consumer Support Grant programs. Lifeworks is also an experienced PCA Choice provider agency and a licensed provider of Personal Support.
