He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake
He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good. So be good for goodness sake. With little tin horns and little toy drums Rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums Santa Claus is coming to town (3x) Santa's a busy man. He has no time to play. He's got millions of stockings to fill on Christmas day.

“Oh, he's watching. Waiting for you to screw up so you will get coal instead of a bicycle. You had better please him. And we teach our kids to put on the mask and be something they are not. Because Santa Claus is comin’ to town. This omniscient being who is judging our every deed is coming to town…and we learn to do the dance early. Buck up…be good. Don't cry. Don't pout. Santa Claus is coming to town.” - John Lynch

For many…this mirrors their view of God
For many…this mirrors their view of God. He’s making a list and He is checking it not once or twice but every moment of every day. God knows if you’ve been bad or good so if you want to be healed or happy or prosperous you had better be good for goodness sake.

Important Differences between God & Santa:
1.) Only God is omniscient, omnipresent, & omnipotent 2.) God keeps track of those who are saved & all our deeds. 3.) God is honored by our good deeds, but can’t be bribed. 4.) Holiness is goodness to God. 5.) God is generous, not miserly.

but He promised to leave His Spirit with those who believe in Him.
Another huge difference between Santa and Jesus is that Christ is still Emmanuel, “God with Us.” He visited Earth and lived for approximately 33 years here… but He promised to leave His Spirit with those who believe in Him.

John 14: 16-18 16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

John 14: 1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled You believe in God; believe also in me My Father’s house has many rooms If that were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

It is heartwarming to think of Santa visiting our home 1 night a year to bless us & reward our good deeds. It is transformational to know that God’s Son was born on Earth to become like us…to save us and to one day bring us home to God the Father.
