TIME FRAME FOR BEGINNING, IMPLEMENTING, & SUSTAINING ACTION
District Priority 1 - Build Professional and Community Collaboratives Spring 2018 Update ACTION WHO IS RESPONSIBLE TIME FRAME FOR BEGINNING, IMPLEMENTING, & SUSTAINING ACTION UPDATE OF ACTION RESOURCE ALLOCATION Use Co-Teaching model at MMS to support student growth and teacher growth SPED Director, Middle School Principal, Teachers Begin: Summer Implement: Sustain: MMS SPED Teacher continues to provide services to her students inside the general education classroom utilizing the co-teaching method. Her collaboration with Bever, Close, Cronsell is in their 3rd year together. Collaboration with Fritsch and Glaser in their second year. SPED model at the MMS allows for co-teaching 4 days a week with the 5th day reserved for co-planning. Social Studies teachers continue to co-teach with Math and ELA classes. New this year is a co-taught 6th grade Science class with Litvay and Jacobson. Other collaborations of co-teaching include Flavin and Page, Burt and Scheidt, and Urbine with Page. Struggles include losing Greg Perrin to the HS and starting from scratch to build the 7th grade co-teaching team of Close and Reed. With that we also lose the integrated 7th grade math concepts that Mr. Perrin was incorporating into his SS curriculum. Teams that have been together for longer periods of time are really creating special cross-curricular units of study...Fritsch and Kinkaid Teachers taking an active role in utilizing their paraprofessional in more than just supportive roles. BVHS SPED teacher (Ricci) co-teaching L.A. with Beth Volpe 1 FTE District Priority 1
