3 Misconceptions (from ACUE course)
1. Misconception: The only way I can cover all of the material I’m expected to get through is by lecturing. 2. Misconception: My role is simply to teach students, and I can't tell if they are learning the correct information if I put them in groups and expect them to figure things out with their classmates. 3. Challenge: When students do group work, there’s always one student who takes charge while the rest take a passive role and don’t learn anything. 4. Challenge: I can’t make sure the students are learning correct information when they are working in a group.

Techniques will not work with all students My favorite technique may not work in all of my classes I can use effective learning techniques to understand the needs of a particular class or a particular student Student feedback is not something that you want at the end of the semester
