1 Institute for Energy Economics and Rational use of Energy
Department of Technology Assessment and Environment (TFU) University of Stuttgart, Germany Dipl.-Ing. Philipp Preiss,

2 Research Areas: Assessment of external costs for energy and transport, Development of Energy Systems and Emission Scenarios, energy policy, Sustainable use of non-renewable resources, Generation of emission inventories for air pollutants, Air pollution control strategies Example Projects: NEEDS, 2009: New Energy Externalities Developments for Sustainability” INTARESE, 2011: Integrated Assessment of Health Risks of Environmental Stressors in Europe EXIOPOL, 2011: A New Environmental Accounting Framework Using Externality Data and Input–Output Tools for Policy Analysis, LC-IMPACT, 2012: Development and application of environmental Life Cycle Impact assessment Methods for imProved sustAinability Characterisation of Technologies.

3 Topics IER/TFU is Interested
Develop and analyse energy system scenarios which take account for possible electro-mobility implementations. Integrated Assessment of externalities of the whole life cycle of the energy & transport system to perform Cost-Benefit-Analysis. Diversity of Europe’s countries energy-mix profiles. Analysis of important traffic-characteristics of urban areas. Case Studies: policy scenarios and corresponding studies. Questionnaires regarding WTP for electro-mobility in different countries.

4 Proposals IER/TFU is Interested
Challenge 6.1 Coping with climate change ENV Atmospheric processes, eco-systems and climate change –FP7-ENV-2013-two-stage Challenge 6.5 Mobilising environmental knowledge for policy, Industry and society ENV Accelerating progress towards the Green Economy – FP7-ENV-2013-one-stage  a) Measuring progress: stocktaking ENV Mobilising environmental knowledge for policy and society– FP7-ENV-2013-one-stage  e) Implications of socio-economic research on air pollution policy ENV Knowledge platforms, networking and uptake of research results for more strategic international R&I cooperation – FP7-ENV one-stage
