5. So love one another!
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another We love, because He first loved us And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.” 1 John 4:11, 19, 21

Adopted as sons (Ephesians 1:5)
Heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:15-17)
Sons of God are sons of love.
“… as He is, so also are we in this world…” (1 John 4:17)
“… love your enemies…” – “so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven…” (Matthew 5:44, 45)

7. We are to love our brethren as God has loved (1 John 4:10-11).
A sacrificial love (1 John 4:10; 3:16).
We are to do the same through sacrificial service (1 John 3:17-19).

Does not participate in worldly lusts and pride
(1 John 2:15-17).
Do not love like Cain (1 John 3:11-12).
Hold fast to God’s commandments (1 John 2:5; 5:3).

8. We are to love our brethren as God has loved (1 John 4:10-11).
Has no cause for stumbling (1 John 2:9-11).
A love that is radiantly pure as God is and as God’s love is, does not cause oneself or another to stumble or fall away from God.

Be patient toward a brother in difficult moments
Keep kindness a constant in your treatment of others
Don’t berate or malign a brother’s goodness
Don’t inflate your own self-
importance or ideas
Don’t behave rudely toward others
Don’t consider only your own interests and desires
Don’t be easily irritated or angry
Don’t dwell on all the offenses that occur
Don’t find pleasure in sin
Love and truth rejoice together
Sustain one another during troubles, not drawing attention to failings
Believe the best about others
Confidently expect the best
Stand earnestly under temptations and hardships with brethren
